Last week I spoke to Pharmacy Express’ Superintendent Pharmacist, Wasim, to chat about their weight management service and what they offer. Their prices are fixed, so no discount codes, and there’s the option of an in-person consultation if you live in or around Wakefield!

Overview; TLDR

If you don’t want to move around finding a new pharmacy every month, Pharmacy Express offer great service at a lower cost than the big pharmacies. It’s a much more personalised service, and their delivery packaging is ultra discreet too.

Consultation & Ordering

You’ll start your order process on the website, going through the weight loss clinic to book a 20 minute consultation appointment. You’ll need to register as a patient, then fill out a questionnaire about your medical history. Once you’ve done this, you submit your form make payment, and they’ll get in touch to arrange your consultation at the booked time.

Booking Process: From homepage, either click Weight Management or from the sidebar choose Book Appointment > select service type (Weight loss or weight loss maintenance plan) > Choose appropriate dose > Fill out registration form which leads onto medical questionnaire > Submit and choose appointment time for your consultation.

As part of your order, you’ll need to provide:

  1. A photograph of your ID
  2. A full-length photograph holding a dated piece of paper and a picture of weight on scale for new patients starting first time on weight loss jabs.
  3. A photograph of your prescription box or previous order confirmation email, dated within the last 32 days.
  4. May need proof of weight and height on video call if checks come back as not approved for new starters using weight loss jabs which will be at discretion of each clinician.

Re-ordering

You need to actively re-order each month and can choose to stay on the same dose or increase. You’ll get a reminder 3 weeks after your last order by email. If you’re not sure which dose to order, you can give the pharmacy a call to discuss, or contact them via email, WhatsApp or webchat.

Do I need to move up a dose every 4 weeks

Absolutely not, Pharmacy Express promote the ability to adjust your dose at your own pace – with no mandate to move up each month. There are no automatic dose increases, and you can choose to stay on the same dose for as long as it is working for you.

Support on Offer from Pharmacy Express

Pharmacy Express pride themselves on providing a personalised service and putting patients’ safety first. They adopt a transparent pricing policy which starts at £120 for 2.5mg and caps out at £170, which is an absolute steal compared to your traditional pharmacies like Boots or Superdrug. They also offer a more personalised service and better support – with various contact options.

You can get in touch with them via email at info@pharmacy-express.co.uk or through WhatsApp on +441924 971414. They’ve also got accounts on most social media platforms including TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram where you can reach out if it’s more convenient.

Please note the pharmacy is open Monday to Friday from 9am-6pm so support can be provided during these hours; responses maybe a little slower during out of hours at evenings and weekends.

What’s Pharmacy Express’s approach to maintenance plans?

Pharmacy Express are completely open to long-term use and maintenance plans, provided this is done safely and you maintain a BMI within the healthy range (ideally above 21). There is no time limit, and patients can transfer to them from another pharmacy at any point in their journey. We just need proof of their previous dose/prescription to transfer them to our maintenance plan.

We highly recommend booking a video consultation; this can be done on the website before you begin your maintenance plan. This initial meeting allows you to receive professional advice from their experienced prescribers, helping you create a personalised plan tailored specifically to your health goals and lifestyle. Personalised plans ensure that you receive the most effective support, enhancing your ability to maintain your progress long-term.

To ensure continuous support and optimal results, Pharmacy Express suggest scheduling consultations every 3-6 months. These regular check-ins enable our prescribers to closely monitor your progress, address any challenges you may encounter, and provide additional support as needed.

Can I pick my delivery day with Pharmacy Express?

They offer same day dispatch if you order before 2pm, as long as all checks are satisfactory. They provide free delivery with Royal Mail Tracked 24. You can upgrade to Next Day Before 1pm for £9.99, if you want to do this just ask during your consult.

You can also opt for free same-day delivery if you live within Wakefield (delivered by Pharmacy Express courier).  Those preferring face-to-face appointments also have the option to collect their pen in-person!

If you need delivery urgently or on a specific date (if preferred later than next day), please get in touch and pharmacy staff will arrange a suitable option.
